Shlomo Denkovitz, an incompetent fraudster, claims to be Jim whilst working as a private eye for his uncle, in pursuit of Giles Grey, a charmer who rooks wealthy widows. Chased by two criminals whose forged identity papers he has forged but mislaid, he has to be rescued by Jim whilst Charlie's friend Eva sets a honey-trap to catch Giles. In addition the drugs squad has unceremoniously taken over the bureau for a stake-out on the island - one way and another it seems unlikely that Jim will get the night's rest he badly needs. Actor Tony Robinson follows in the footsteps of coast-to-coast pioneer Alfred Wainwright as he starts his journey along the long-distance footpath named after Wainwright. Tony starts his journey at the intriguingly-named St Bees in Cumbria, where he picks up a pebble on the beach which he plans to deliver to Robin Hood's Bay on the Yorkshire coast. After viewing the village's splendid Norman church, Tony learns about the upper-crust origins of the humble Scotch Egg and visits the most westerly lake in the Lake District - where he meets a farmer who is developing a pioneering approach to protect the natural environment. After a spell in the mountains flanking Honister Pass, he digs into the history of slate extraction - watching workmen at Honister slate mine chiselling off perfectly flat tiles from huge slabs of rock.
